The Disaster Management Cell of Ri Bhoi College was launched in the year 2014. This cell is an autonomous body under the control of the Governing body of Ri Bhoi College. The NSS unit and the Indian Red Cross of Ri Bhoi College were the active member of this cell. The main aim of the Ri Bhoi College Disaster Management Cell is to ensure the safety of the students, teaching faculty as well as the non-teaching staff. It also has the responsibility towards the neighbouring villages as well as the district. Mock drills were conducted once a year by the department of Ri Bhoi District Disaster Management Government of Meghalaya. The Cell since its inception it has been able to organise art work like painting, slogan, essays, poetry competition to create awareness. Along with the Civil Defence and Home Guards it has been able to organised demonstration on fire safety, first aid, search and rescues training.
